Tracking Containers Just Got Much Easier. GateHouse Maritime Now Offers Ocean Supply Chain Visibility in AWS Marketplace
Aalborg, Denmark, July 25, 2022.
- GateHouse Maritime now offers Ocean Supply Chain Visibility data sets in the AWS Marketplace.
- AWS Marketplace customers can purchase data sets enabling them to track containers even when they are still at sea, making them able to adjust and optimize operations.
- There will be no need to install or learn another piece of software as customers will be able to integrate the data directly into their own systems.
Today, GateHouse Maritime announced that select data sets from its OceanIO data platform are now available for purchase in AWS, a digital catalog with thousands of software listings from independent software vendors that make it easy to find, test, buy, and deploy software that runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The decision is part of the company’s strategy to enable customers to gain end-to-end ocean visibility by providing real-time status and precise estimated times of arrival for all containers.
The OceanIO platform includes a number of services such as Container Tracking, Arrival Prediction and Vessel Tracking, the first of which can now be found and purchased in AWS Marketplace in the form of a data-as-a-service (DaaS) solution. Using Container Tracking data, customers will be able to optimize operations such as pickup planning while avoiding unnecessary demurrage fees.
To supply customers with precise and accurate data, GateHouse Maritime receives and refines up to 150 million new data points daily, drawn from various sources. This includes nearly 300,000 oceangoing vessels reporting information regarding their position, heading, speed and depth, together with information from 160 satellites and 2,500 terrestrial stations, 120 container freight carriers and 4000 ports and terminals.
To increase the availability of Container Tracking data, GateHouse Maritime now offers this data in AWS Marketplace, which helps customers find, buy, and deploy third-party software services on a global scale. Working with AWS, GateHouse Maritime provides more customers with increased transparency while saving time and reducing errors by having everything integrated into their own systems.
